Exotic Birds - The Parallel Beauties of Nature

Exotic Birds - The Parallel Beauties of Nature

There are many species that comes under exotic birds, like kingfishers, bee-eaters, magpie, humming birds, pigeons, dove and everyone's favorite Lorikeets etc. They do play important role in making the nature beautiful. Exotic birds are the beauty of nature, they are parallel walkers. I used the word 'parallel' here because; besides living they provide beauty to the nature. Everyone has or at least had a desire to keep them along with them. They are monomorphic, both the male and female are identical.
Many people do have a hobby of having pigeons and dove and even maintain them providing with all facilities because it is widely believed that, among all exotic pet birds the most sincere and faithful are the pigeons and doves. Once they start living with human beings they begin to understand what they are seeing, they mostly tries to identify with the language and action of human beings, and it is implicit that birds are punctual by their character.

The other exotic, famous and favorite pet birds are parrots, and the most common household pets among them are, King Parrot, Red Wing Parrot, Budgerigar, Cocktail and of course the Ground Parrot. They are energetic and try to learn everything. These are the birds that listen keenly and they can hear with high frequency, and try to imitate and repeat what ever is being said to them frequently. They look at in to every object and noise with great delight anyone who comes across them simply loves them.
Lorikeets are colorful and lively birds. There are six different types of lorikeets are there Rainbow Lorikeets, Blue mountain Lorikeets, Blue Lorikeet, Green Collar Lorikeet, Swain son's Loris and the Brestly scaled lorikeets .
They can be found in Australian forests and woodlands and they visits cities either single or in a flock. Lorikeets are often pair up for life and always seen in pairs. The slim and lean looking lorikeets look more beautiful, and these lorikeets are a combination of green red orange and yellow colors and their beak is dark orange.
They lay two eggs at a time and they hatched in 27 days they grow very fast and even become independent in 16 days, both male and female feed their chicks. A Rainbow Lorikeets life span is 25 to 30 years.
These birds feed largely on nectar and pollen and they can do this because they have a sharp beak and they break open the pollen. Lorikeets also feed on fruit, grains, berries, and leaf-buds, and sometimes they eat the food of human beings if offered. Lorikeets have small hairs on their tongues where the pollen sticks, if they are fed seed these small hairs are tattered down, thus this stops the bird from eating pollen. Apple, pear, grapes berries and melon are their favorite food. These birds are hollow nesters, living in trunks of dead or living trees.
Exotic birds are a treat to watch and having them as a pet is a wonderful experience. Please visit our site to learn more about the amazing world of exotic birds.

Exotic Birds and Caring for Them

Exotic Birds and Caring for Them

Owning an exotic bird is a huge responsibility. I personally own three exotic birds. They include an African Grey, a Macaw and a Cockatoo. Each of these birds can live for well over 80 years.
Exotic Birds

Interaction is a must and so is socialization. Not only do I play the parent and guardian I also interact with them. My birds love laughter, chasing me around, climbing and singing. They remind me of little kids. I try to blend into their habitat as much as I can. On a daily basis I provide them with two hours of playtime. They even know the words "Playtime" as you hear them mimic the words each day at 3 PM. They even have their own garden of Eden. Well over 50 Trees to suit the original habitats they would have lived around.
Exotic Birds I must clip and trim their wings every couple of months, file beaks and claws, bathe and groom them and properly sanitize cages and perches. Even feeding them is an important task. I provide them a mix variety of fresh fruits and vegetables besides the normal herbs, leaves and grasses. This is extremely important for a healthy and a happy bird. Most owners believe seeds are the only substance to feed them. A special diet and non consistency in foods are extremely important. Imagine eating Mc Donalds on a daily basis. Not only would you gain weight you would also lack the essential nutrients your body needs. Fresh vegetables are extremely important because of the high vitamins and antioxidants they provide these birds. Proper nourishment will also help counter diseases and illnesses that can occur. Owners beware of toxic and poisonous plants. Do your research. An avian doctor is extremely expensive and hard to find in certain areas.
Some breeds rarely coexist with another species. My African Grey for example has issues with my Cockatoo. I decided to do some research after I purchased her and found that these two species are extremely opposite in nature. One loves pampering while the other one loves domination.
Birds can be extremely violent in nature. They pick up the energy and emotions around them. If you are deciding on have one of these birds make sure your home suites these birds. Your bird can be like a child for many years. Keep them away from violence, attitudes, cigarettes, smoke, harsh chemicals (cleaning products), stoves, fumes, pesticides and any thing you would keep away from a child.
A healthy and happy bird is extremely important. Don't neglected your bid. Speak to him or her regularly. Taking them for long walks on your shoulder. Teach your bird to enjoy the same life you enjoy and never punish your bird. They have an acute awareness of learning bad habits to gain your attention. Like a child who cries for a parent to pick them up, the bird will yell and scream until you give in. Be patient with them and confront their needs in wanting your attention.
